Volunteers in Action serves the community by providing Christians the opportunity to enhance the lives of people in need with the gift of a helping hand.

Faith in Deed! Volunteers are matched with individuals who need help with some of the basic activities of daily living, such as transportation to appointments, minor home repair, shopping, or reading mail. Involvement can be on a one-time basis or on-going.

Partners for Success. Volunteers serve as mentors for one year, to walk alongside and encourage a low-income individual in becoming successfully employed.

Orthopedic Bank. Used durable medical equipment is loaned to individuals free of charge.

Service Projects. Several times a year volunteers work as team members for larger community activities, such as Make a Difference Day and the annual VIA Paint-a-thon.

KidzBlitz Initiative.  Currently, 180,000 or about 14% of children residing here are without

any form of health insurance.  Of that 180,000, a remarkable 120,000 are eligible for some form of very low cost public insurance, however they have failed to enroll.  Volunteers in Action has

teamed up with the Colorado Coalition for the Medically Underserved to enroll as many children

as possible for health care coverage, an initiative called KidzBlitz.  Volunteer "Navigators" are trained (through Volunteers in Action) to help low-income families overcome the difficult application process and sign their children up for low cost health care coverage.  If you are interested in the program or becoming a "Navigator", please feel free to call VIA @ 303-713-9144.

Education. Agency staff train lay leaders and church members on the dynamics of mercy ministry within their congregations and community, and give opportunity for them to join the volunteer base of the agency.
